WASER Vice President Prof. ZY Wang Participates in the “Forum on Water Security“ in Chengdu, China

On September 9, 2013 the representatives of seven associations dealing with different aspects of water issues held a meeting in Chengdu, China to discuss ways to collaborate on ways to enhance water security around the world. Eight Participants made presentations:

Roger FALCONER, President, International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR)
Gordon YOUNG, President, International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS)
JIA Jinsheng, Past President, International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD)
XIA Jun, Past President, International Water Resources Association (IWRA)
GAO Zhanyi, Past President, International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID)
Tomás SANCHO, President, World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE)
WANG Zhao-Yin, Vice President, World Association for Sedimentation and Erosion Research (WASER)
Olivia CASTILLO, United Nations Secretary General Advisory Board (UNSGAB)

At the conclusion of the meeting the Presidents of these seven associations signed a Declaration on Water Security, stating the goals of their collaboration. Those at the meeting agreed to continue collaborating as a working group towards the goals of the water security declaration.

WASER Vice President Prof. Zhao-Yin Wang participated in the Forum and made a presentation as the official representative of WASER.
