Research Interests

Estuarine and Coastal Hydrodynamics & Sediment Dynamics (sediment transport and boundary layer processes, sediment flux and fate)

Qing He, professor of East China Normal University, director of State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research. She has long been engaged in the study of estuarine sediment transport and morphodynamics; specializing in estuarine sediment transport and the application in navigational engineering. She leads many key national, provincial and ministerial projects such as National Research and Development Project; National Natural Science Foundation of China, international cooperative projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and Shanghai Municipal Commission of science and technology. She led her team to make innovative achievements in understanding the response of human-driven hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics and morphodynamics in deltas and applying to the deep channel navigational engineering works in China. She is currently the vice chairman of the estuary professional committee of Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, the vice chairman of the estuary governance and protection professional committee of Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society and the steering committee member of the International Conference on Cohesive Sediment Transport (INTERCOH). She also won many scientific awards, like the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Science and Technology Award of China Water Transport Construction Industry Association, Shanghai Shuguang Scholar(scientist), Shanghai Yucai Award (education), and Shanghai Woman Pace-Setter.
