The language of the trainings and study tour is English

 

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the international trainings and study tour is to provide technical and practical knowledge on the impacts of large dams to economy, social and environment and to equip our young people with an international perspective and to keep them abreast of the social, economic and cultural development of other countries. Study tours to different sites like the Huaihe River and the Yellow River have been organized by the IRTCES for young people before. The youth exchange programmes have gained great supports from the communities concerned and proved to be successful and very worthwhile.

 

PARTICIPANTS QUALIFICATIONS:

The participants should either be a) scientists and engineers or b) university graduate or postgraduate students in the field of water engineering and related fields.

 

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES:

The participants may submit a registration form for the study tour. Completed forms must be received by IRTCES attn: Mr. Liu Xiaoying, P. O. Box 366 , Beijing , 100044, China , before May 1, 2006. Registration by facsimile 0 0+86-10-68411174 or e-mail liuxy@iwrh.com are welcomed. The facsimile/e-mail should contain the following basic information about the participants: name, age, academic qualifications, present position, proficiency in English and full address including email address, telephone/facsimile numbers.

 

REGISTRATION FEE AND METHOD OF PAYMENT:

Regular participants and students are entitled to attend all the technical and social programs. Registration fee include accommodation, local transportation and tour fees in the total amount of $900 US dollars . All the payment to the IRTCES must be net payment, i.e., exclusive of bank transfer charge, currency exchange rate charges, credit card payment bank charge.

OFFICIAL RECEIPT:

All participants will receive a written confirmation from the IRTCES as soon as their registration form with correct payment have reached the account number mentioned above by fax, letter or E-mail. The confirmation letter will be available on the registration desk upon his/her arrival. A formal receipt will be given at the registration desk

 

CANCELLATIONS ：

Cancellation must be made in writing to the IRTCES. The refund will be two months after the Study Tour. Registration fee will be 75% refund after May 30, 2006 and 50% refund after 8 August 2006.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Passport and Visa: A valid passport and visa for visiting China are required. Upon receiving your registration and payment, IRTCES will send you an official invitation letter for visa application at the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate General. Please allow adequate time to get your visa.

Insurance: The organizers cannot be held responsible for personal accidents or material damage that may occur to the participants during the tour. All participants are advised to make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance before commencing their journey to China .

Currency Exchange: In China , only RMB is used. However, exchange centers can be found at airports, most hotels and large shopping centers. The rate of exchange is set by the Bank of China at about US$ 1.00 = RMB 8.1 Yuan. When exchanging money, please keep your receipt so you can change residual RMB back to foreign currency when leaving China .

Power Supply: Throughout China , the electrical supply is 220V and 50HZ with 3 pin plugs and bayonet-type light fitting.

Airport Tax: Domestic flight departure tax is RMB 50 Yuan per person and international flight departure tax is RMB 90 Yuan per person.

Reconfirmation of Departure Air tickets: The departure air ticket (both international and domestic) should be reconfirmed 72 hours in advance. It can be made through business center of the hotel 。 .
