WASER ASSEMBLY HELD IN MOSCOW

August 19, Beijing, China

The WASER Assembly was held in Moscow on the afternoon of August 4, 2007. WASER members and participants from all over the world attended the Assembly. This is a very good opportunity for all WASER members to get together after nearly three years since the birth of the association.

Prof. Des E. Walling, president of WASER, presided over the General Assembly and delivered a general report of WASER £¬ his report will be posted very soon on the website.

Prof. G. Di Silvio, Vice President of WASER, announced the winners of honorary members and briefed their accomplishments and contributions. The winners are Prof. Bingnan Lin from China and Prof. E. Plate from Germany ; Prof. Des E. Walling and Prof. Chih Ted Yang presented the certificates and medals to the representatives of winners. A short speech was given by representative of winners.

Prof. Dingzhong Dai, Director of Qian Ning Foundation Committee for Sedimentation and Erosion Technology announced the First Qian Ning International Prize of WASER, the Winners are Prof. Des E. Walling from UK and Prof. Sam S. Y. Wang from USA. Prof. Qiwei Han, Academician of Chinese Engineering, Professor of the IWHR, and Prof. Guangqian Wang of Tsinghua University of China presented the certificates, medals and honorarium. Response was given by Prof. Sam S.Y.Wang, representative of prize winners.
