On the evening of August 14, a farewell banquet and closing ceremony of the WASER/IAHR-APD/IRTCES Study Tour to the TGP was held in Changhai Hotel of Wuhan city. Dr. Liu Xiaoying gave a speech to express thanks for those who have contributed support and efforts to make the study tour a successful one.

Distinguished guests, dear colleauges and ladies and gentlemen:

Time is flying. Eight days have been elapsed. Tonight should have been a night for celebration. we have experienced 8 days of exceptional study tour to the TGP. During the tour, we have learned a lot of knowledge from the experts of TGP corporation and well known experts from Tsinghua University and Hong Kong University. We have had a wondful experience through visits of TGP, cultural visits and cultural performance and demonstrations of physical modeling of TGP and river bed diversified animals. You have exchanged the new research results and recent findings through the workshop. We have built our friendship though the communication during the boat and bus tours. The study tour is the first activity of WASER, is the joint efforts of WASER in cooperation with IAHR-APD and IRTCES and is successful and worthwhile.

This is a very emotional moment.

Soon it will be time to say " farewell, but first allow me a few words of appreciation.

My great thanks to Prof. Des Walling and all council members of WASER, to Prof. Lee Joseph Hun-wei and all the members of IAHR-APD, to Prof. Kuang Shangfu, Prof. Hu Chunhong, Prof. Yang Hongbing for great support to the tour.

Great thanks also to Prof. Lee Joseph Hun-wei, Prof. Wang Zhaoyin, Prof. Wang Rushu, Prof. Dai Huichao and Prof. Yang Baihua, Ms. Niu Lanhua, Prof. Chen Jin and Prof. Lu Jinyou for excellent lectures and presentations, your efforts and cooperation have made this study tour unique.

Many thanks to all the colleagues, participants, organizers and others who have contributed their efforts to the success of the study tour,especially Ms. Pan Zhanhui, Ms. Chen Yang, Ms. Liu Yun, Ms. Lisa, Ms. Shi Hongling, Ms. Huang Li, Dr. Yao Shiming, Dr. Yu Guoan, Mr. Wang Ruiyu, your contribution, your passion, your friendliness and kindness, will travel on, way beyond tonight.
